Volubilis or Walili – Ruins of the Berber- Roman Empire

Once the capital of the Berber kingdom of Mauretania in the 3rd century BC, Volubilis later became an important Roman outpost in North Africa. Today, the site offers a remarkable window into the past — from intact mosaic floors to crumbling columns and triumphal arches that have withstood nearly two thousand years. Meknes – The Understated Imperial Capital

In the afternoon, you’ll stop through Meknes, a city that was once a royal metropolis eclipsed by the fame of Marrakech and Fes, but that’s in fact charming and architecturally fascinating. Enormous gates, centuries-old granaries and tranquil courtyards reveal a city road-tested by the whims of Sultan Moulay Ismail.
